Ya was very good..and if you watch it carefully, you'll find a lot of hidden clues which explain the storyline perfectly.

amelie was good.but never saw it as it beat lagaan to the oscars!!

Amelie was cute..it started well but in the end it made me want more out of the storyline.

my movies are

1. Children of Heaven (Persian)
2. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (Japanese)
3. El Cid: La leyenda aka El Cid: The Legend (spanish)

2nd and 3rd movies are animated one.......

now lets talk bout best ones........

1. The Passion of the Christ :........it was released in 3 languages Aramaic,Latin nd Hebrew.....i hav hebrew version.......

2. Apocalypto (mayan)

both of these movies are directed by Mel Gibson

"Life is beautiful" is my favorite all time movie.Roberto Benigni had directed and acted in this movie.I had original Italian version Vcd's of this movie years ago.I remember having gifted the movies Dvd's to many of my friends in the past.Another Italian movie that is simply out of this world is"The Battle of Algiers"(stunning realism),you can catch it on UTV World Movies channel.

Iranian movies have breathtaking photography and they choose subjects that might appear inane to most of the people.Some of the splendid Iranian movies that I loved watching-"Children of Heaven","The Apple" and"The Color of Paradise".

Wrong information. Amelie was in the competition for the award of Best Foreign Film along with Lagaan. But the award was won the film No Man's Land from Bosnia & Herzegovina.

old boy, amelie are the two of my fav foreign language movies so far discussed on this thread.

i will like to recommend two other foreign language movies here - you must have heard of them but if possible watch these movies:

1) the motorcycle diaries - oscar winning argentine movie - Diarios de motocicleta (2004)

2) malena (18+) - italian movie nominated for two oscars - starring monica belluci - Malèna (2000)

i also liked The Savior , it was a movie based on experiences of People of bosnia and Hercegovina, and other balkan people...

i liked a movie(forgot its name0 where there was a rich man, who hired people on his birthday to let him feel, whats a family..was a spanish one..

you have copies of these movies in english?? what do you want to say by that? an english dubbed copy of "motorcycle diaries" do not exist - i bet. and u have it !! yes, you can get english subtitles of course

motorcycle diaries only exists in two languages: Quechua & Spanish

You must watch cinema paradiso (italian). one of my favourite movies alongside life is beautiful. then there are some akira kurosawa classics. seven samurai (inspired the english movie the magnificent seven), yojimbo (sergio leone made a fistful of dollars from it), the hidden fortress (the movie that inspired george lucas to make star wars), rashomon and ran. all these movies are japanese btw.

among the recent movies, the counterfeiters (last year's foreign language oscar winner), waltz with bashir(this years fl oscar nominee) , let the right one in and ben-x are pretty good.

infernal affairs (the movie from which martin scorsese made the departed) is pretty good too.

ok man i think just to prove this i need to post a sample video of those movies english versions.........what u say..........but dont ask to post them rite now because from 2 days i was very ill of ulti and dast ...thats why my post counts are not going +++ ..........and one more thing just for example the national treasure movie was not released in hindi but the Bindass channel was broadcasted it many times in hindi..........there are many more movies like this one which are not released in other languages but in different countries they are dubbed in their local languages.......and the public just rip them from those boxes.........just to tell u i'm a person of media line so i got few contacts from the industry, from them i got many movies mindblowing prints..........a normal guy cant even imagine for that such prints.........a movie was shooted in 4k and in a DVD release it was of 2k.........just to prove these things i'll post some screenshots of some snimated movies........
