    Default Some blu-ray pics

I am uploading some blu-ray pictures. I had to compress them to a smaller size so as not to hog forum space and (your) bandwidth). These are from the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" - the new edition starring Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connoly.

I thought someone is bound to say this.

The McDonalds scene is an important part of the movie.

The actual Mc donalds sign is missing in the Movie. The actual sign looks something like this:

The sign is missing in the frame in the pics captured but it is there in the movie.

As I mentioned, the sequence at McDonalds is an important part of the movie.

Default Some more blu-ray pics from "The Dark Knight"

Please find some shots from "The Dark Knight". Once again, I reduced the frame size from 1920x1080 to what they are now.

    Default Dark Knight pics (contd).

If you observe that some pictures are taller than others. The Blu-ray DVD has been created to give the IMAX effect. So some scenes are shown in 1.85:1 format while the rest are in 2.35:1 format. The scenes that show a largesse canvas are in the IMAX format.

(p/s. Those wondering how I got this pics ... I have a BD-ROM and full HD LCD monitor at my workplace @ Adobe. I captured the screen in PowerDVD HD and then resized the image.)

It is blu-ray and not blue-ray.

Blu-ray is a successor to the DVD. Blu-ray is capable of delivering high definition movies in 1920x1080 pixels at 24p. Read here more:

Why would uploading images consume bandwidth of forum if you use tinypic? Are you not using it?

    To answer your questions:
    1. If I upload a 1920x1080 pixel picture, it would be close to 1 MB in size each. The forum does not allow such a large file to be uploaded.
    2. Even if the forum allowed large filesize, the picture would not fit the computer screen and you will have horizontal scrolling to do. In a normal web page when the pic is larger than the screen, the picture is resized to fit the screen and the cursor changes to "zoom" mode. A click on the pic zooms the picture to 100%. Forum does not do that.
    3. I don't like any image hosting solution. I hate to move away from current page all the time. Besides there is not much point. While this may save the forum's bandwidth, it will not save your own. Imagine, downloading 10 pics of 1 MB size each - that is 10 MB of usage from a single thread.
