| Platinum Member | Projector is optional. Also projector is not feasible at most homes. It requires a special room and darkening (especially during day time). But a good 40" Widescreen TV is good enough. Plasma is better for cinema (because of high contrast and black level) but LCD is more versatile. However, to enjoy movies like Ben Hur or Lawrence of Arabia, a projection cannot be beaten. Still I will not recommend a projector to everyone.

Rep Power: 0 | Sweet post ... small + informative + accurate + inspiring. makes me want to go and make my bed room into a Home theater. Just purchased a 22" Samsung LCD "TV" which also doubles up as a Monitor. The resolution is 1680*1050 ...... its super cool ... (and its less expensive than u think ...about 15000/- INR) Its HD ready and comes with HDMI too ... Its perfect for all those bedrooms ..which needs both a Monitor and a 'small' TV but there is space only for one... Unfortunately not many ppl know about this option...even Computer resellers. The reason i am posting this info in this thread is one can consider it for an relatively inexpensive 'mini' home theater in one's room. |
