Lightbulb Guide: Building a Home Theater

I have tried to put a few things together. This is really a vast subject and I cannot really do it justice in 4/5 pages. But hope that it is useful anyway.

    Please do comment.

Plan the two together. That is the best way.

Projector is optional. Also projector is not feasible at most homes. It requires a special room and darkening (especially during day time).

But a good 40" Widescreen TV is good enough. Plasma is better for cinema (because of high contrast and black level) but LCD is more versatile.

However, to enjoy movies like Ben Hur or Lawrence of Arabia, a projection cannot be beaten. Still I will not recommend a projector to everyone.

Sweet post ... small + informative + accurate + inspiring.

makes me want to go and make my bed room into a Home theater.
Just purchased a 22" Samsung LCD "TV" which also doubles up as a Monitor.
The resolution is 1680*1050 ...... its super cool ... (and its less expensive than u think ...about 15000/- INR)
Its HD ready and comes with HDMI too ...

Its perfect for all those bedrooms ..which needs both a Monitor and a 'small' TV but there is space only for one...

Unfortunately not many ppl know about this option...even Computer resellers.

The reason i am posting this info in this thread is one can consider it for an relatively inexpensive 'mini' home theater in one's room.

    On-topic:
Just downloaded the zipped PDF file, had a quick glance, and I must say that it is really nice.

    Repo added.

P.S: I had to spread some. But was able to do that pretty quick.

Shadow had not been online in IBB for quite sometime, and possibly just about the days he went offline, he might have given you a repo. That could be the reason why he's not able to repo you.

yeah when i was active ... about a month back .... i use to repo everybody like crazy (for legit articles/tips/posts etc)...... and then i stopped forum-ing for a long while ....... and now i am only semi-active .... logging in for a few minutes ..... that may be the reason why i cannot repo any of the old members (ppl who were around when i came here first).... like navgemi , Admin , Rameshji , Starrynight a.k.a Punch Suckr , Manish , Preeti, itsmemad ,Pingu mod etc etc

@Shadow, do you not know the "repo obscure members" trick?

No. I am not. I have enough reps. But if someone wants to repo me and can't, then I can't let the opportunity pass. Can I?
