Branded Products

There are so many popular brands, and most people actually go for the branded products, what are the reasons for this, and why is it that the branded things are more expensive.

Everyone has different views or know the right reasons of why this is, what do you think why it is this way?

And are you someone who always buys branded products and thinks that branded products are the best?

Since this is posted in 'gadgets' forum, I presume you are referring to branded appliances and gadgets. In this case, a big YES. Do not ever think of unbranded products.

Yes I am referring to home appliances and gadgets!

i dont really agree, u can find pretty good unbraned stuff in the market, its just the one needs to be careful about the choice of product

OK. Let us mention the appliance classes:

- Fridge
- Washing Machine
- Microwave oven
- TV
- Music system
- Home theater
- Iron
- Water heaters
- Mixer/Grinders/Food Processor
- tube lights/CFL lamps
- mobile telephone handsets
- even the most common electrical switches

The list goes on. Are you really saying that you will buy unbranded stuff in any of the above classes?

Even when it comes to assembled PC, you bet your money on quality/branded components.

yes, unbranded is not a bad option, sumtimes even better

I don't care much for branded item in case of gadgets. Only care about the support and reviews in websites. For Home appliances it's different. Only branded and one with best customer care service (from reviews).

But sometimes the best of branded products sometimes really let you down!

A think a good example we an related to is Admin's Whirlpool fridge!

Although in some cases i do think that branded goods are important, it depends on the product and the brand too!

Like for example although i have an Apple iPod, but i have faced a lot of problems with it, and after all its an Mp3 player with just the name, but was expensive than other Mp3 players which were of the same size, quality, style and GB and were not of known brand names. Sometimes i think i should have gone for them!

Absolutely. Branded products can also fail. It is just a matter of probability. If a branded product fails, you can at least go back to the company for replacement/repairs, etc. What will you do about non-branded product?

That's a point! But coming to think of it, is there such a thing of a product which doesn't have a brand, if not a popular brand a product would have some kind of brand wouldn't it?

Come to think of it - every product will be manufactured by someone. It is reputation on quality/service/guarantee that will matter.

It is a personal choice - but when it comes to appliances and gadgets, I will recommend branded products.

Yeh i suppose appliances are always best in big brands, where as other products such as gadgets you can get away with other brands or names!

Hey Guys and gals....the best way is to go to grey market...and try ur luck..!!!
Coz.....We Get Items But without bill...
whats dangerous in that....iam from pune...so i had went to grey market.....
i asked for 8gb Pendrive....they showed me sony pendrive...i asked price..i htought it would be somwhere around 850/-
and i was suprised..they said its for 78/- only....but they warned,,,me no bill notthing
if it proves original...then..uir lucky..if not unlucky..i wanted to try my luck out...
i purchased 6 of pdrives.....one proved to be fake one...but all other proved original..

I even purchased ipod classic 160gb from there for 1950/-
and i got my luck....it was original.!!!!!
iam pretty happy with it..

ya i agree with him.........
in case home appliances can be damaged accidentally, some branded products have warranty of exchange.but i am not talking about table, chair etc.just electronic items

Could be original, but a re sale or refurbished item. I see many Ebay items with high price variations.
Any citizen can also join for selling an item on e-bay, The brand manufacturers will generally have their own network and perhaps they need not depend on things like e-bay. Incidentally, warranties especially in Indian context are a joke, including assurances given by finance business.

On EBay, the new and old/reburbished models are clearly marked. I have purchased many items over eBay. Apart from slightly high shipping costs, I never had to worry. All items were brand new in original hologram sealed boxes. As everyone is aware, hologram seals are very difficult to tamper.

i ordered Kaspersky Internet Security last wednesday and till now no courier has reached.but i got an email that the seller has shiped the item.

I mostly ordered hardware products. My deliveries were within 3-4 days at most. I also chose reputed sellers over price.

But you are protected by PaisaPay price protection. If your goods are not delivered within 7 days, write to eBay and they will hold the payment to the retailer.

yeah but i don't need my money back i just want my order.after my exam is finished, in school i always think that today order will be delievered but after coming from school there is no courier.:36:
