Rep Power: 3 | It would be ludicrous to talk about gramophone these days but I sincerely want to own a gramophone. Can you people tell me where to get a decent one from? What about the records? Do music companies release gramophone records these days? How much it'll cost me and everything that you want to share.

You may be able to get old stuff from resellers. Also, I have not seen anyone manufacturing a gramophone or record player. However, in UK and Europe, I did find records still being sold. This is because many older generations still own record players and there is enough market. But there too, the technology is slowly being phased out.

Rep Power: 10 | I still have a turntable. I have hooked it up with my music system and the effect it produces can even beat the CDs most of the time. there are several places where u can find old LP/EPs. Kolkata is perhaps the best place in this regard. |

I am here on this thread also. I have a gramaphone player. I love the warm sound it produces. I have about 20-30 LPs. I would love to have the one with the big horn (like the HMV logo) mine is a flat turn table connected to two speakers. I'll take some pictures and post it later. -F p.s why am I not surprised that the ones that have gramaphones are Kix, Panchabuth and myself ;-) I am surprised Nandini even know what a grmaphone is, I would expect her to be the ipod generation ;-) | |

Rep Power: 10 | gramaphone was very popular here. during festivals and meetings we used to have MGR songs in the loud speaker. and in winter we used to hear religious songs in the early morning. |
