    Quite good.

A small point. Only tracks recorded with 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound and a decoder will give true surround sound.

For example, pure audio in your iPOD or any MP3 player is pure stereo and you will not get surround effect. Whatever is done by the system is a simulation at best.

Same about downlaoded movies (from torrents or elsewhere). DViX or XVid sources do not have Dolby Digital or DTS sound. Hence the receiver in your system cannot decode these tracks and produce true surround sound.

p/s. Have a look at my guide (link in my signature).

actually, wireless speakers have a huge disadvantage. They need to be powered so each speaker needs a power nearby and you will eventually have a wire running from the top of the wall to socket, which essentially brings you back to the original problem lol.

Also, to readers who are interested in buying a home theater, just a reminder, never look at the PMPO rating, ask him for RMS rating. If for that he says "sir its 3000W RMS" for a Rs10000-15000 system, let me tell you he does not know what he is talking about.

Another new gadget is the sound bar. It is basically one speaker unit that emulates the surround sound effect. I had gone for a demo and i found it pretty good, you guys should try it too.

True about power requirement for the Wireless speaker. But each wireless speaker will not require a power. For example, the rear speaker enitire set will have one cord running to the mains.

But essentially you still end up having a wire although it may not be as bad.

However, wireless speakers will come at an extra cost.

but then you will have one chord between the speakers itself

The set i had seen, each of the rear speakers had one power cable each. The front ones were all wired. I am not sure but even sony has those wireless kits now right ? (as in they are in india Sony)
