    Smile Please help me urgently

I have gone through the Above thread of Sahil_kmr On which the generator topic was Discussed!
I also have the same problem!
    There are huge electricity cuts!
Parminder said Buy a Inverter With 4 Batteries!
Are they capable of running 1 COOLER 2 FANS AND 4 CFL'S? one desktop and even A/C instead of cooler!(if i switch on COOLER OR A/C between one of them)
Please suggest me a noice free operating device which should Run efficiently!
Does a single Inverter of 15K can carry 4~5 Batteries?
    Please! help

you forgot the Refrigerator and Microwave oven and Water heater !
Give the complete list with Wattage:
say ceiling fans 56" sweep 80Watts etc.

Add up all and give your requirement for how many hours usage at a stretch.

In my city THere is mostly non availability of Electricity!
Out of 24 Hrs. only 8 hrs. light is available!
I don't know how much Each of them pulls electricity but ya of Cooler i am sure it pulls 1000W!
Other items such as one TV,Tubelights=2*60W and 4 Room fans!
    These all are required!

Lets take fan around- 50W*4=200W. TV= ~100W(CRT)(depends on the screen size, company, Model, it is more if LCD or Plasma). Desktop ~200 (CRT)

    So total ~1700

15k inverters give around 1000W power, should go for higher power..

at my place there is 5 hours of daily power cut off.. but thats very normally couped with invertor.. the power cut happens in day time, when we can do with just a fan or( dont require fans though) and all lights are switched off..

@shahid- You would still need around 1600W supply

Since the electricity is available for only 8 hours and your power requirements are huge, inverter may not work for you. As the inverter can fulfill only the basic needs and it requires time and electricity to recharge the Batteries. Power generator is the best option for you.

I wonder why the citizens don't have the basic amenities even after 60+ years of independence.

    After 60 years
In 1947 after partition Population about 30 crores
    in 2010 population 110 crores.
    Politics/Politicians/Regionalism/Ecology concerns
    prevent water sharing power sharing.
Also we have to spend about Rs 400 crores for
developing a Cryogenic Rocket for 18 years which crashed in Bay of Bengal for a cool bath
after 5 minutes of take off !
    Dont Forget Commonwealth Games 2011.
( Money being spent like "liquor" in Delhi !!!
[water is also scarce to so many of us "]

Now Wind Mill Power generators / Solar Power Panels / and " Cowdung Methane Gas "
are to be tapped for future use.

    @Shahid
I missed out that you have only 8hrs of power... Which is v.bad!! I thought u loose power for 8hrs.. So in this case Itsmemad is right... You dont have much of a charge time and also high power inverter consume more energy and loss is more

Nothing could be really done with such a small amount of power...

may i know where do you live??

till now , nothing could be really done to go with such a big power failure..

What itsmemad said is right. An inverter will not help you. And even if you try to install one, it will be very costly affair - more than 1 lac definitely.

You need a generator. I think that there are two companies in the market - Sriram Honda and Birla Yamaha. Check these out. With a generator you will also have to keep kerosene and petrol (small amount required for starting) in the premises.

Thread opener : I dont know where you have quoted me from... a link would be helpful.

You only get 8 hour of electricity and you want to run equipment of upto 1000 watts... Not hard atall but its always helpfull to mention your budget.

And inverter with 4 battries is a huge power house and will run everything you have mentioned all day long given that you get to charge it for continous 8 hours every day.

Before you jump into buying yourself an inverter I would suggest these :

    Lighting:

Change your lighting to led bulbs or led tubes from BPL.. a 15 watts led tube or four 5 watt led bulbs will be good for a room saving you a lot of electricity.

    Fans:

Go to your local shop that sells fans and ask them to bring you some 25 watt fans that most people use in villages in Eastern Uttar pradesh. This will save you a hell lot of electricity.

    Cooler :

If your cooler uses 1000watts of electricity then I suggest you buy a new one that would use more like 200 watts or lesser depending upon the size.

Its no use spending so much money on a massive generator when you can cut down your consumption of electricity by more then 60% by spending a little money.. doing that will also enable you to use a smaller genset that would use lesser fuel.

Invertor or generator ? I cant say for sure which one would work the best as only 8 hours of electricity might leave your battries under charged most of the days..
