May be an exhaustive list is required
The reason being many people have media content as soft copies and will try on USB. (It would seem the disc media itself gets outdated.....after some years)
The best way is to take the content on your own USB stick and test it in the store.

You will have to mod it using the ICOS chip. Just search the net. The mod kit can be ordered online. Many have done it.

    Hi j4k,

I am very new to connections through co-axial cable.

I have logitech z5500 speakers, 40" LCD Tv and BDP-S370/B player.

I have connected the HDMI out from BDP-S370/B sony player to my 40" sony LCD.

ALso I have connected the co-axial output of BDP to co-axial input of logitech z5500.
Please let me know if I can get Dolby Digital sound from Z5500 speakers through the above mentioned connection ?

Also can you please let me know what more digital formats of sounds, I can get from z5500 system through this connection (connected the co-axial output of BDP to co-axial input of logitech z5500.) ?

    Thanks,
    gaurav.2310

    Hi gaurav,

Yes. You can get Dolby Digital 5.1 sound that way. Apart from that, you can get the following sounds from the Logitech system:

    - if the DVD/BD has DTS sound, you can get DTS 5.1 sound from the system. You should select DTS track from the menu option (Sound options) of the DVD/BD menu
    - if you play an audio CD, mp3/aac/wmv cd, downloaded DViX movie, you will get stereo sound from the system

Note that blu-ray disc movie's primary audio track either DTS-HD MA or Dolby TrueHD. These will be downgraded to DTS 5.1 or DD 5.1 respectively on the above system.

You must check with the dealer.

May I state that there is hardly any point buying another blu-ray player (3D or not).

Of course I am not going to buy another blu ray player (at least of the same reagion or any region for that matter at all)

I think a Monster Cable will be much of a deal than another blu ray player

Today was sunday so couldnt ask the dealer. Will be getting all the things by tomorrow, most probably.

Do not go for just brand names like Monster Cable. There are other cables (non-branded) that are just as good.

It also plays the .mkv format (heavily being used in HD movie torrents)
