Thread: help please -- tv related

hello all,
I have a bpl colour tv (old one) -- just using it in a temporary place... put up a tata sky connection for it..

prob is this big green " AV " all the time on upper right corner of screen.. I press recall button on the tv remote , it goes and comes back within 20- 30 seconds

please can someone suggest how can I get rid of it totally?

its a small screen and the " AV " irritates by being continuously present when watching anything...

This is the current channel display button. It is a toggle situtation.

Check the button called "Display" on the TV or remote. Just press it and it should disappear after 5 seconds. If you press the "Display" button again, the channel display will be toggled back to always ON mode.

but Im not seeing any such button on my remote..
its a old tv and no manual has been kept

sorry if I'm being stupid.. I really am not getting it.. I'm sure its a simple solution but I just aint gettin it

On the TV, there will be a button pannel (small buttons for tuning, colour/brightness/contrast adustment, etc.). Usually, it is covered by a small flap. Check it out.

The button may be named differently also. Or it may be just an icon like a TV screen.

went to tv and back... opened the flap..
i ll just list out whats there..

right to left-- vhold--sharp-- pic--memory--search--band--mode--auto--vol--prog

and the usual + and - signs for each of them..

Hmmm. None of those.

Is there a button on the remote with an icon that looks like a TV screen? Try the unknown buttons one after another. But do wait for a few seconds (10 secs?) after pressing each one.

nope I dont see any such button...

just the recall button makes it go but its back in 15 secs max ...

I must be doomed to the AV thing till I have this tv ..

is there a reset button,which deletes all channels and settings from the TV memory,do that.
