    Default Career Window A/c-Got problems with it

    We got this windows a/c on wednesday,after bringing it,i realize that i have done a huge mistake,
    Here the problems which we face:
    1.It has Whistling and very baffling sound like chii,it screws the mind and hearing
    2.Even after bringing the big stabilizer,the a/c doesn't starts,after operating 2 minutes it goes on and off,the procedure continues.

    What should i do,my cpu runs all day long,does it matters?
    Where should i complain???????
    Never go for a Carrier One!

    the chii sound may be because of improper fit of the front grill in which the air filter is fitted.try to press fingers against all the vibrating parts and try to isolate the sound causing areas.also try switching off the air sweep damper,they make a lot of noise if they are misaligned.they are useless anyways as it increases load.
    If not,it also could be because of a misaligned blade of the suction fan and the shaft which is connected to the condenser fan.don't open up the AC as it will violate the gurantee/warranty.
    there is also the sound of the compressor,which makes the majority of the sound of the AC,but now a days,these have become so advanced,they barely make heavy sounds.

    if by going ON/OFF u mean the compressor,this may be because of a problem with the thermostat.it is a long strip of wire like device.it is located in front of the grill in the suction area.it is not a major issue which can be easily corrected,but i don't advice you to open up and do it urself,because it will violate gurantee/warranty.
    also do a load test of the trip switch of your stabilizer by a certified electrician,maybe the switch is not correctly rated which can cause the compressor to go OFF.

    running a CPU for 24 hours can be harmful if too much heat builds up.but i still keep it ON for days at a time.i have completely unpacked my CPU and the mother board is lying flat horizontally on the table.that way heating issues can be solved.

    Call Carrier customer care and explain the problems to them and get a complaint number from them.. They should send someone at your place at the earliest as your AC is still under warranty.

    Who fitted it? was the problem there when the fitting was done? If not how did it all start?

    What tonnage is your AC and how big is your room? Running a computer all day long is never a problem for an air conditioner although it increases the electricity consumption a bit and also increases the compressor running cycle because of the extra work it has to do for taking care of the heat produced by your computer.

    My Father called private people to get it installed,currently there is no chii chii volume,buta ll day along the a/c Humiliated all of us very badly,
    After the fitting was done,1 day the whole night(first night) it doesn't created any chii chii noise,however it is of mood,would toll free number help?

    Yes toll free or paid its customer service and thats what they are there for... complaints in a consumer forum come after customer care fail to satisfy you but you have to complain to them first and give them reasonable amount of time to resolve the issue if there is any.

    Carrier is one of the best AC brands available in India and if by chance there is a problem with the peice you have I am sure they will get it resolved... You need to tell them that there is a problem else how would they know?

    I also have a Carrier 1.5 Ton AC and never faced this problem. This is the case of wrong fitting. If the thermocol packing inside the AC is not removed before installation it will create vibrations and sound.

    Getting a bigger stablizer will only solve the case is not the answer to AC not starting up, you should get a better and branded stablizer. if AC shuts after 2-3 minutes again and again, whats the error code its displaying on screen. This happens when input voltage is not within limits. might be some other reasons can be there.

    And why are you hesitant to call Carrier Helpline. its under warranty or not.They will get it solved and why didnt you asked some good technician for installation, as the installation is most important.

    The problems that you are facing cannot be attributed to the AC unit.

    1. The hissing (cheeee) sound is because air is being blown through some small crevice. This is the result of improper fitting.

    2. The AC will shut off automatically if there is not sufficient power or the voltage fluctuates beyond tolerable limit. You have added the voltage stabilizer - but is it doing the job properly.

    Your solutions:

    1. Call the authorized Carrier Aircon maintenance technician. Schedule an appointment.
    2. Ask him to inspect all issues.
    3. Get the voltage checked from him - both pre-stabilizer and post-stabilizer.
    4. The 1.5T AC requires 15A power socket. Hopefully, this is correct.
