Default Airconditioning for 1600sq feet Gurdwara hall

The local Gurdwara (sikh temple) does not have airconditioning so I am going to donate airconditioners for the 1600 sq feet main hall and have no idea what would be the best thing.

Only the East wall is exposed to sun and there are two large windows towards East which must be about 100sq feet in area (pure guess)
The entrance is towards west but is fully covered with a large warandah so no direct sunlight on that wall either and North and South walls are covered with other structures.. The total area is 1600sq feet for the main hall where we need the aircons fitted and its hieght must be about 15-16 feet aprox. There are mostly 15-20 people in there max but some days there can be upto 150 or may be more..

I was wondering if two 2ton window ac's would do it or do we need three of them and would splits do a better job? Any other suggestions like multi split thing and all that?

My budget is Rs70000-80000 and I am open to new ideas as well if you have any. If there is a solution which uses extremely less energy and costs a bit more I can look at increasing my budget by another 20-30 k if need be.

I need to buy something tomorrow morning because the word is out about me planning to set up aircons and I dont want some one else to dump aircons at the gurdwara before I do Any suggestions please shoot

Good work. But about conditioning thats some specialized guys. I had been to a same kind of Gurudwara in haldwani. It also such building surrounded by building and no direct entrance for wind and it was quite suffocating in summer kirtans. They use to put many fans attached on the cross section of the walls. Five or six of them in one wall and four a.cs at four corners as i was told. There were more than 30people in such a small place but it was cool. I didnt sweat.

Mickey this Gurdwara is very well ventilated and has massive windows to the West and door as well but I didint mention those because they are all covered with a huge porch which prevents direct sunlight.
I got three 2 ton Carrier AC's window type and they are doing a great job but will have to see how it goes when the hall is full in May-June.

6 Ton of AC for 1600 sq. ft. may not suffice if the attendance is high. But one can always install an additional unit later.

as j4k says, i too think an additional ac is required.. and are there any fans already?? because fans are must in a closed room...

@Just4kix Tomorrow is Basakhi so there will be loads of people and it would be a good test. If these three struggle too much to keep the hall cool then will get another one.

@Mickey Yes there are a lot of ceiling fans there already.

Great! Neki kar, dariya may daal... Quite an inspirational stuff you pulled-off! High ceilings should require greater power. Still I guess 3 ACs should be enough. As most of the times there are only 20 followers present in the hall!
