Thread: Suggestion On Buying Digital Camera

One sony model which has impressed me very much is DSC-HX7V
Here's specs DSC-HX7V : H Series : Digital Still Camera : Sony India
It is priced 15600 on fllipkart with carry case and 4gb card.
So if u have any suggestions on any other models plz do share
also if you know any website with better pricing also let me know

Sony does make some cool and feature packed digital cameras. However, i found out after i purchased a Sony Cybershot Point and shoot, that same spec camera by Canon had way better features, and was priced even less.

Canon, Nikon, etc. were companies which were pioneers in non digital camera technology, and their digital cameras are still way better, and are less costly.

Finally, decide on a set of features that u want. Look at models fitting this set of features, for. eg. chk out similar spec'd cameras from Sony, Canon, and Nikon. Then chk out the price points, and service center location.

Only after this research has been done, go ahead and make the purchase.

Megapixels and such specs are meaningless on point & shoot after 8 MP. You can look at Canon Digital IXUS 210.

when i take a camera i look into clarity, because i dont work with pics like that

Don't ever go for sony, what sony does is aggressive marketing and gives less for more money.
Nikon or Canon, whatever you prefer and whatever you like.
While choosing take care tough, don't fall for the mega-pixels trap
Anything above 7 is good, what is of more concern is the Optical Zoom.
All mega Pixels give is better cropping power.(which is of use only when you try to crop yourself out of a photo for an fb profile pic )
