It all started with iPad. Apple is now richer than US itself and money is something which people cannot resist. For a long time, it was iPad alone as nobody else dared to think about a consumer product like iPad. The only competitor (who had some impact) was Motorola Xoom which was an Android tablet. The fact is that Apple remains the undisputed leader of tablet market till date, but the concept of tablet is too big a hit that Apple cannot serve the market needs even if they wish to. Apart from that iPad is not priced for all. So other gadget makers realized that there is room for all and headed with what they call tablets (most of which had to be sold at give away prices to clear stock Eg. HP tablet).
But Apple clearly ignored India, where they may think that there is any scope for their products. Most Apple products like iPhone and iPad came to India when the next model is due. This gave Samsung Galaxy Tab a good opportunity to win market share. But they too never thought of selling at a sub 15 K price.
It was Reliance who first made its entry to basic tablet market with Reliance 3G tab. The price was so low that people who consider buying a smart phone could have easily go for Reliance 3G tab. After that we have seen a lot of gadget makers entering into tablet market. The latest of them is Spice MiTab. Let us take a quick glance at what Spice has in store for Indians.

The specs seems well in par with competitors, it is also decently price for an entry level tablet. With 2GB RAM and GPU gaming should be fun. But how well it performs has to be seen.
