Default LG 42" PLASMA TV: CAN'T VIEW, PLAY, LISTEN TO MUSIC FROM EXTERNAL DISK on USB

Whenever I plug in USB external disk to the TV, the music, pictures and videos can't play and the file sizes are shown as 0.00 despite the fact that their names and format are displayed okay, the files are mpg for pics, Divx Avi, and mp3, What could be the way forward ?

    1. Check whether the TV supports external HDD. Sometimes the TV USB is limited to DOS format and size to 4 GB. Try a small USB thumb drive (< 4GB) and check.
    2. Is the TV capable of playing back the files that you mentioned? Check the manual.

I wish i had read all these comments sometime back. I have bought a TV which claims to remove flickers, but i am not happy with the results. I will surely look out for a certification from next time.
