    Anybody genius there ?
    I asked this question twice...
    I don't get a single straight answer.

"I want to know what capacity of UPS need for 10 PC's (all PC's have LCD's)?
    How its calculated ? "

I have PC with (Intel Pentium 4 processor,Motherboard chipset ,250 GB HDD,1 GB RAM 18.5 inch LCD that's it...)

Please anybody tell, how much watt consume for above configuration PC ?

    You get straight answers.

If they are not the ones you want, we can't help it.

Suggest, at this point, you buy a meter.

No, ordinary people like you who spend their time to help others.

    Your previous attempts

    I wonder why.

Question is like " How much money in general I need if I have 10 kids and I need all of them to go to a single school " without mentioning.

    1. Which school

    2. Which class

    3. Children of what age ?

    4. Where you live ? In a village or a metro ?

    and lot of other questions.

This time the question seems to be better. But no mention of How much backup time you need (to mention the very least).

I see that there was a UPS selector link posted for your second thread, but didn't saw any feedback on that.

It will be a bit difficult to calculate the UPS capacity even with 50 % accuracy unless you give some idea about wattage. Different make and model of these products consume different amount of power. YHope you are not expecting replies like 1000 W UPS since you clearly mention you need accurate data as much as possible.

You can either get a trusted freelance technician or reps from different UPS companies to get a correct data.

You can always wait for a better answer in this thread.

If it is assembled by you ( No brand name ) check the Power supply
rating of the SMPS unit in each.
    Approximately maximum 250Watts.

For LCD Monitor mention model details.
( whether energy saving type or not ) Approx 20 to 30 watts each.

    Google search:
Desktop PC power consumption; LCD monitor Power rating

    Total wattage 10 x 300W = 3000Watts. approx

You are better off asking the question to a company. They will know the best.

Generally as a thumb rule, the UPS VA rating should be at least 1.25 times (1.5 is ideal) the total wattage. But wattage is just one of the factors. The other important parameter is backup time. Batteries of different make/rating cost differently too.

In my completely unappreciated answer to this guy on a previous thread, I pointed out that ten PCs (say 100 to 200-plus watts each) amounts to a lot of current, and this, if he doesn't want to burn his house down is a job for a profession to specify and install.

No way can he run this off a 6-amp socket, and I have my doubts about even a 15-amp socket, especially if the wiring supplying it is not checked as being heavy duty.

Even though it lacks the motor-starting surge of an AC machine, this kind of load is in the same class.

I might have guessed at 2Kw. Essbebe shows that 3Kw or more might be more like it! I'm now used to an LCD monitor, and I forget that CRTs took a lot more power.

Our admin, rightly, asks us to treat newbee questions gently and respect, but, honestly, if they won't listen to the answers, what can we do?

With respect to any here who are engineers or professional electricians, this is not a subject to act on amateur advice on a public forum. A mis-configured network won't burn your house down. 3Kw-plus on a light-duty cable can; easily.

nilesh1foru, looking forward to your new thread...

You have not provded enough information. If I was you would forget about the whole UPS and battries idea and get a diesel engine that farmers use to pump undergroung water into fields and use it to power a generator which are very popular in rural areas in North India.
Use a small individual UPS for every PC to keep them from turning off when you loose power so you have time to go and turn on the genset.

Why genset and not a large inverter? Because it is a lot cheaper to use a Generator even if you run it for 4-5 hours every day as compared to charging your batteries and having to change them every 2-3 years depending on what quality you use. The genset is extremely low maintainence and uses up fuel according to your electricity consumption.

What are you going to use these 10 computers for? if it is a cyber cafe then the set up I mentioned above is your best bet. If budget is not an issue then call "Sukam" and they will provide you a solution that will be best suited for you.
