    Default Solar power

I have a been dreaming of this for a long long time but I just couldnt find anything economically feasable.

I would love to build a house with no electricity connection and run everything with solar power during the day and use the power saved in battries during night. I know this can be done easily but the cost factor has kept me away from trying this in the past.

Its not just solar power really I can live with any source of electricity which is not produced by burning hydrocarbons... Wind turbine is not an option for me as it is not in by budget and is not a very reliable source if installed in North India.

If you have any experience or knowledge about this please post them I would really appreciate your comments

Reliance Industries has a Solar Vertical.
If in case you visit Jamnagar, they are building up a huge Solar initiative out there. It include everything... A house, Industry, Village supplies etc etc...

Solar power can really help us a lot in many ways. It can save us more money. Even though it costs a lot on installments, but it is wortht it in the end.

It is possible to build a house which completely runs on solar installed panels. But its rare in India. There are some German companies which built those houses based on contract but they are marginally costlier.

    Default Wind Power

wind power is cheaper and easily converted from recycled gadgets , where i Used to work In Sussex Uk we used wind Power to recharge our aerodrome hanger Inverter Batteries and also Pump water for the farm near by !!

all the equipt was made from recycled items , the windmill from old thrown away fans blades , the alternator was from junked/written off cessna , but it can also be made from an old car alternator, the pump we found thrown away in the Junk yard , we repaired and put a new housing ...
from Wht i hear its still in use since the last 12 years and going strong ..!!

recycling things is Fun , I never throw anything away and my wife is really goes crazy bcoz of that , but I always reuse or repair from old items b4 I really feel the need to buy something new frm a shop !!

Is your gyser working fine and what about winters when there are clouds? does it wtill give you enough hot water ?

Didnt you get any subsidy? I thought one gets 5k or something like that subsidy from state.

So if you dont get to it [junk crafts] first ...where does it go ? I mean can anybody just walk into an aircraft junkyard and salvage parts ?

To the best of my knowledge subsidies are for Industrial units only ....like say Textile mills
No did nt get any subsidies

During the afternoons the water is hot enough to melt plastic wares ....

During nights you still have to turn on both the cold and hot water knobs for the shower/tap to get the right temp ...

So all around the day you get very hot water.....

During winter nights the water is at the perfect temp ...no need to turn on cold water....

But thats taking into account chennai's hot weather

    Normal times temp - 30 to 40 degree C
    Summer - 40 + degrees
Winter - Never below 25/30 degree C even on December 25 ..... No wonder Santa never comes to my place
