    Thanks, Mickey & Dilip.

Yes. Safe, it will have to be. The Pune traffic is chaotic (so what else is new?). It will take some time to get used to the big size car on the small congested (infested?) roads. I have driven much larger cars but that was in USA and UK. In UK, the inner roads are also narrow (probably narrower than in India), but traffic is discipined.

On the bad side, scrapped one bumper - we were five people in the car.

dont worry it happens to best of us keeping bumper squeaky clean is not possible in Indian condition also the ground clearance in Civic is low so you have to watch out for pot holes in rainy season otherwise car under-body will pay the price.

i think honda should modify their cars to Indian conditions like with higher ground clearance

Quite true. Still I was going really slow - maybe 10 kmph.

They have improved it slightly but not as much as desired. The problem can be addressed by change of tyre size.

Put a "nazar battu" both front and back... A black parandi will do.. Thats if you believe in the "nazar" concept... I do.

I neither believe nor disbelieve. After all I have seen mothers do apply a kaala teeka on the face of the baby to protect him/her from the evil eyes amongst the society. I do not see anything wrong with that. Maybe it works - maybe it doesn't.

But in this case, how will putting a nazar battu help?

Took me a while to find this picture : Team-BHP - View Single Post - Pics: Maruti Suzuki Autocross 2005 The car in the first picture in this post has got an example of a nazar battu on the left hand side front bumper... If you dont want it that prominent then you can have it tied to the towing hook in the front which is very descrete in civics.. It would hang to touch the road and will be visible from the front side.

Ask your neary by garage guy what to do at the back... they do it all the time so they should know

Another thing to note is that the Civic flies and you don't realize how fast you are going untill you see the odometer ... Take it easy on the accelerator

yeah this superstition works, 3 years ago when i bought my Swift VDi it was grabbing everybody attention because car was on high waiting period and in just 30 days of ownership a lame nincompoop on scooter banged into my driver-side door which resulted in minor thud on door just below the key hole so the "EVIL EYE'S" have done their job, so i bought 3 "parandi" and tied 2 on front lower bumper grille and one in back tow hook and from that day my car is running without any dents it may sound weird but its true, specially in India people cant resist somebody new gleaming car and saw them with envious looks which results in mishap.

this pic is taken after 3 years you may think that i'm superstitious but that "parandi" stuff helped, my car bumper+body is without any scratches or dent touchwood, except the one which was gifted by scooterist, some may not believe in Evil Eye but if u do some desi remedies to cure it then you will start to believe in it.

Its the Delhi-Noida toll plaza which is known as DND Flyway, Gurgaon toll plaza is 7X bigger than this.

congrats j4k ! that is one sweet ride, nice to see you son enjoying it too

its easily the best color for a civic. Even a white looks sweet on it. I don't know about the roads in pune, but a civic is far to low for bangalore roads (still plenty of of civics here though), the car bottoms out many times on speed breakers here, very irritating...

So, you taking it for a spin to mumbai on the highway ?
