Thread: Idea 3G status in Pune

My 3G got activated today and must say the speeds are no better than the previous EDGE network. Sometimes I have the '3G' symbol and sometimes an 'H' where previously EDGE used to be. The speedtest result is posted below.

However, there is a marked difference in the call audio and its great. One biggest difference was that now my GPRS is no more disconnected when I get a call and I cant explain in words of useful that is to me. I have checked signal availability around camp, wanowrie, NIBM & Kondhwa and its the same, 80% to 100% network. Will update about other areas soon.

I'm disappointed with the tariff plans & the provided speed. I Think Idea is deliberately capping speeds, don't know why though.

I've checked this on an HTC Desire with android 2.2 with latest updates.
