Default Idea will have its own 3G network services in Delhi

Idea is going to be launching their 3G services in New Delhi by the end of next year, to many like me this may sound like some weird and maybe old news as Idea 3G is already in Delhi. So to speak Idea is not using its own network for 3G in New Delhi and by the end of next year they will have their own 3G network. Wanting to bring in more customers the 3G rates will also be revised, in the plan to be a better service provider than Vodafone and Airtel.

That brings a question to my mind that does Idea have spectrum in Delhi circle? How is this going to work out? The more operators the better it is for consumers.

Idea does not hold licence for Delhi. However after the recent TD-SAT ruling, the AVOID group (Airtel-Vooda-Idea) have again got back to their old agreement and started offering 3G services in locations where they do not have licence by riding piggy-back on each others' spectrum.
Airtel has already started 3G service in Kolkata using Vodafone spectrum.

So I am guessing that this is not going to make any difference. Just people getting to choose between paying 299 or 300 or 301. They are all hand in glove with each other. Reliance JIO looks like a distant dream but it probably would make our wait worth our while when they launch with prices well below the going rates.

In Delhi Reliance GSM has 3G licence. Their 3G rates are cheaper and reasonably good coverage in NCR as per my experience. The new post-paid combo plans are real good.
There is also MTNL (the cheapest) but the coverage is lesser.

Mtnl is not bad for downloading large files where you just forget about it for the night and let it work but otherwise for browsing it some times lags. Reliance is good in my area both cdma and gsm work well.
