    idea is not a bad service provider...
    i use it and i am happy with it...so dont be ashamed of discussing about it..:36:

    iDEA is good in Maharashtra, Gujarat and GOA. I am not sure about other states.

    BTW, where are you located? How is the service in your area?

    i am located in western up circle..idea is the biggest player here after state owned Bhai Sahab Nahi Lagta or BSNL...

    Idea cellular has good services almost every where except in delhi (bad coverage , may be bcoz it operates @ 1800Mhz & not on 900Mhz band)
    I almost forgot to mention that idea is the 1st service provider in India to start GPRS & is the 1st service provider to have a 3G compatible network in India.

    So once this 3g auction is done I guess tata's would be the first one to get 3g operational.

    I don't think frequency matters. What matters is how many towers are available to provide the coverage.

    For instance, Airtel is very good in Delhi but very poor in Maharashtra because as the last entrant into this circle, it did not get good sites for towers. The same holds true of iDEA in New Delhi circle.

    IDEA is one of the best service providers in Kerala. Give them time for expanding their presence.

    Frequency does matter. High frequency means lower penetration power, hence low transmitted distance. Hence more number of towers are required for seamless network.

    May be its time that Idea entered into a tower sharing agreement, at least in NCR.
    BTW the netsetter modem thats presently offered by Idea is 3G enabled.

    Its 3G enabled. so the same device can be used once 3G services start.
    As of now, Govt. is yet give the final green signal for starting 3G service by pvt. parties.

    3g services, as of now are not available under any service provider in india.infact, in the times of recession, the govt of india has increased the minimum prices for auction to double the original price they set.so now the auctions would start sometime in july....

    good choice

    BTW do u use internet on ur IDEA

    i do and i had sent a feedback to IDEA to launce a new play @ Rs.99 the next day i got a call from them and they said if the response is good and they recieve more such demands they will launch such plan

    so plz post it on the IDEA feedback option on IDEA website

    Since I am from MH, iDEA is the best option here. Well. BSNL is cheaper but their call drop rate is also higher.

    I do have GPRS enabled but I never use it because BSNL Zindabad.

    i am in mumbai and this is the best and fastest GPRS here ... MTNL sux !! BSNL rates are much better !

    In kerala also idea is good i am an idea customer for more than 3 years. I am using Idea student, offer is 15ps for 2 idea numbersat day time night 11pm-7am that 2 numbers unlimited free with out any recharge.........
    i am really satisfied with this......
