Thread: Idea Phone Advertising

I had an idea connection for a while, and the time i had it i was so annoyed with it, it was unbelievable. The amount of text messages and calls you get from Idea automated advertising is ridiculous. I would understand something like getting one call or one text a day, but i used to get 6-10 calls a day along with anything from 10-20 texts a day just for idea advertising for their caller tunes.

And I also found out after that whenever someone called me, there was no ringtone but instead the Idea ad instead!

I would not suggest getting idea plans at all, especially if your someone who needs it for business needs, as it would drive you mad, especially your clients who would call you up!

I had a guest from abroad a few days ago and I got him an idea chip unfortunately same crap as you described above... and it was a brand new chip and the number was never used anywhere either... calls after calls all day long.

Idea sucks big time.

thats why i use vodafone

you can call idea care and register your number in DND list to stop such calls

yeh you can do but it only affective after 45days, which is stupid!

I did it but still get idea's promotions every single day..

I am with iDEA and used to get pesky marketing calls and SMS's but nowhere with the volume you have mentioned - about one or two calls every week and about one SMS per day.

I registered with the DND registry and these have stopped considerably. I now get calls from banks and insurance companies - maybe once in a fortnight.

no what i meant was that when you call to start DND, the advertising (DND) only starts 45day after you make that call to customer service!!!!!

exactly correct...! they are the most irritating service provider ever found on earth...:32:

it sure is irritating, but dont idea think how annoying this may be for their customers, i mean there has to be some limit to the amount of advertising calls and sms's!

Let me tell you one thing - all mobile providers are more or less same. They are like our political netas - the choice is "which is the best of the worst".

I hope you read this. May be it will make them more polite.

That is correct to some extent, but when you say all mobile providers are more or less the same, i would have agreed upon this, but of recent i got an airtel connection, and i have not received even one call from them, i got an sms on day one of connection and that's it! Why is it that different to other mobile phone providers.

i seen the things a lot, and wid time got used to it, but it has reduced a lot nowadays, the promoters have realized that the calls are just a waste of money, the receiver doesn't even complete the call.

but my airtel is great, it send me some one elses bank details evry week wid account balance. :lol:
