Thread: Idea Net Connection

A lot of people who use Idea Mobile Internet, and I have a lot of details about their plans, but do not know much about the quality and hows its performance is!

What is the quality of Idea Mobile, using the Idea's unlimited plan which is Rs300 per month?

What kind of speeds do you get with the unlimited plan and does it matter what handset you use with the connection?

you are mistaken IDEA is providing a GPRS plan unlimited that cots 700+ in my state kerala.
Speed about 25KBps download. That means in an edge enabled phone yo can get upto 200+ kbps connection speed.

It's crap plan you can get a dataone UL for Rs-750

I bought an Idea Net Setter datacard for Rs. 2336. Connection works fine. I am in Mumbai and the thing works in Ahmedabad and Rajasthan also. So connectivity is excellent but speed is pathetic. It is 256kbps. You never get the full 256 kbps. And whatever speed you get is pathetically slow. I can't even get basic work done. Any suggestions on how to increase the speed of browsing?

So you getting slow speed everywhere you go, or you just use it in one location or area?

Well! Surprisingly, I get inferior network coverage of Idea and the net speed in Mumbai. Comparatively, I got full coverage in places like Ahmadabad and Banswara (Rajasthan) and slightly better speeds. Overall, the speed is too slow, whether there is network coverage or not.

I am using Idea GPRS, which is a better option then buying a idea netsetter, if you already own a GPRS enabled handset. In rajasthan I am getting around 20-25 KBps download speed which is quite reasonable when it comes to GPRS, the only problem is, that its rates are quite high...

the activation is quite easy for the GPRS20 plan, while for Rs 699 plan you will need to use the RC699 voucher.

I am vikas.I hv purchased Idea Net Setter few months ago.Everthing was fine before tomorrow.I am using Reliance simcard to access Internet.Now problem is that when I insert any sim & try to connect,it is giving error: "Error1717:Interface is Unknown" & it doesn't connect to internet.Can anyone help me please.
