Question "SIM registration failed" after MNP request

I requested to port my vodafone number to idea on 24/1/2011. After two days I received a message as "Hello! We have received our Porting Request VL119781 dated 26jan11. We will validate your request and will revert on confirmation by 96hrs TAT from the time we received the request from MCH".

After two days, on 27th morning, I got a message displaying in the screen as "SIM registration failed!" I thought that Vodafone has ported in to idea and I changed the current vodafone sim with the new idea sim the dealer provided when I was applying for MNP (mobile Number portability).

But then too mobile was displaying the same message "SIM registration failed!".
i contacted dealer and he called idea local office at kottakkal, they told that it'll be okay with next 24hrs. But no hope after 24hrs and they they told that tomorrow morning it'll be changed to idea. again not changed. Then they said that it'll be change on next morning.... Up to this time (Sunday 6-2-2011), I'm waiting for my getting my number working at least with vodafone itself.

I don't know why this happens and what I can do to get back my number? Any help will be appreciated.. Thanks.. with a frustrated mind..

Try to get in contact with the nodal officer. You were using postpaid or prepaid/changed plan within last 3 months ?
