On point 7 about phone insurance:

The insurance company will refund the phone cost (depreciated value), only when the phone is confirmed by the police as stolen and not found.

Many times the police are reluctant to mark the case as stolen (and even refise to do so). They will rather mark the case as "phone was lost". This is because, in case of theft they are obliged to make a report, investigate the case, etc.

And many insurance companies will refuse claim for loss.

My advice: don't buy expensive gadgets. I myself carry Nokia 1110. A thief will hardly feel inclined to steal an inexpensive device.

My favorite phone is 1110. It's the best phone Nokia ever released.
