    Broadband Subscriber Numbers by State

    Maharashtra topped the list with 9.34 lakh broadband subscribers, bulk of the subscribers coming from Mumbai.

    Here is the complete list:
    1. Maharashtra & Goa: 9.34 lacs
    2. Tamilnadu: 6.44 lacs
    3. Delhi including NCR: 5.88 lacs
    4. Karnataka: 5.69 lacs
    5. Andhra Pradesh: 4.00 lacs
    6. Gujarat: 3.22 lacs
    7. Kerala: 2.49 lacs
    8. West Bengal: 2.46 lacs
    9. Uttar Pradesh: 2.38 lacs
    10. Punjab: 1.82 lacs
    11. Madhya Pradesh: 1.68 lacs
    12. Rajasthan: 1.45 lacs
    Do we have any member from Mumbai ?
    As far as I rememebr,I havn't seen any member from Mumbai

    I am guessing that Mumbai numbers (including Navi Mumbai which is served by MTNL) should be similar to Delhi+NCR.

    hey could u plzz, post more specific values for goa, i ll be moving to goa very soon

    where did you get this data from?

    2009 will see better growth due to wimax and hopefully lower prices.
    3g would also add to these numbers if the price is right.

    Its a shame we in india have such low broadband penetration. Even countries like brazil are so much better off.

    The price of 3G will be high intially. I dont see any reduction in the price of 3G
    next year, as the provider would have paid a huge amount to get the 3G licence. It will take a year or 2 till 3G becomes affordable.

    There are many other reasons to be shamed of like politicians,corruptions,etc
