Thread: Spectrum release may get delayed

The Indian army has retracted its words of allocating its spectrum in a phased manner. Spectrum allocation is crucial for newer service providers to start their operations in India. The existing operators were also waiting for the move from the Army as they were planning to request additional spectrum for a price. Army is of the stance that they might release the spectrum only after BSNL finishes building an alternate network for them to communicate. BSNL has promised to complete the alternate network by 2011.

after giving bail-out packages to the airlines, real estate and other pvt. sectors, the Govt. has no money to provide to the Defence Ministry. So their new network have to wait. Result - spectrum release also have to wait.

They would get lots of money(thousad of crores) from spectrum auction, this can be used to fund alternative network for Defence.

Govt is lazy, nothing else.
