Default More Wimax Users in India by 2014

By the year 2014 in India there will be more Wimax based broadband users than subscribers on any other next generation technology.
According to the paper Assocham there will be around 20 million 3G based broadband users and the number of Wimax users will be around 60 million.

The increase in Wimax users will be purely because of the 20Mhz spectrum per operator, this not only will provide improved experience but also will be more affordable and will increase the penetration rate. Wimax based devices will also be cheaper than 3G devices, and the difference will be around double.

These however are just estimates and nothing is certain, and telecom companies go against this estimates made.

Yes true its already started in major cities, and its got off to a good start too! Even better and more popular when the prices will come down, as usual the latest technologies are always more costly at first then gradually come to an affordable and reasonable price for everyone.

You have to wait for more time for that. It offer 1gbps for stationary location & 100mbps for mobile. It might be implemented for 4G also.( have serious competition from LTE-advanced)

Hi, according to recent news, WIMAX will be replaced by LTE (Long Term Evolution) as it will be integrated into mobile devices and will not require a seperate device for WIMAX......

    Talking

EDGE is a 2.5G technology, we are talking about 3G technology and above........so naturally the speed of EDGE is no where near LTE!!!
