Ok... I would rather have higher speeds (2MBps+) than impractical tariffs.

    1 Mbps UL - 1350/month. - My plan.

    256Kbps upto 2Mbps - 10GB - 1000/month. NU from 12 to 8.
I also think UL 750 will reduce to 500 Rs very quickly and also UL 512 kbps rental will be reduce but limited plan tariff may not be reduce at this time.

Do you think BSNL will bring in 4/8Mbps to home plans now?

    no dreaming please

ok seriously : I dont think they will do it soon, as they are not able to provide good reliable connection at 2 mbps itself.. so i dont think they will give shortly.

NU @ 2 Mbps for UL 256 and 512 will be a good idea. Actually UL subscribers are paying much more than limited users. UL schemes also deserve NU.

UL subscribers are paying more because they have no limit to download and they can download it any time........
So if UL can download all day..... why they need separate NU?

During NU UL speeds drop as low as 130 Kbps where as the promised one is 256 kbps. I can download hardly 65 MB/ hour. 8 - 10 hours for a movie, which NU can download during one hour. Both are the same. Only reason I am sticking to UL is those huge bills I used to get. I am sure that most users stick to UL due to billing uncertainities.

Hey if you are not getting stated speed use this utility cFosSpeed.....
Before using this I was getting speed something like 0.56 mbps (megabits per second) and after using it I'm getting the ISP's stated speed 1 mbps (actually I'm getting 1.02 mbps)........ check my signature.....

Thanks Sumit, will try it. Can you please give me the download link.

Actually I am getting 32 KBps but not stagnant. Very poor during NU hours. I am not much of a downloader hence ok with me. I also wrote to the SDE and other officers listed in the website with speedtest screenshot. They didn't even bothered to reply.

    Dear Customers,

bbservice.bsnl.in will be discontinued on 21st August 2009,you are requested to use BSNL Portal for usage details, password change and profile update.
Why this BSNL Portal always damn slow/dead ?

Also, just because of bbservice.bsnl.in is going down, does that mean that new plans will be announced ?
