Australians will have 100 MB of speed by 2017 I hope that someone in the Indian Government read it and takes some inspiration to improve our soon to be primitive Indian Broadband connections.
Australia has launched the largest infrastructure design in its history to create a network of broadband Internet that allows 90% of households enjoy Internet access through fiber optic cable before 2017 to a speed of 100 Mb. The remaining 10% located in remote areas and often in the desert, will eventually be connected to the network with the wireless mode. If necessary, arrangements will be reached with local providers to use its satellite technology, and of course the public purse be borne by the difference in cost of services delivered in the big cities and in the most remote places in the country.
Tasmania is the first place where the deployment has begun and already has seven miles of optical fiber of this scheme called 'National Broadband Network' (NBN). Telstra, the largest telecommunications operator in Australia is working on the project.
This project, 'National Broadband Network' (NBN) is based on "Fiber To The Home" (FTTH) Network.
