Unhappy Very high rates from Uganda

One of my close relative has just landed for a temporary period in uganda. He is our family member and talking with him everyday is inevitable. We tried out from here on BSNL mobile to his mobile and its costs us RS.10-12 per minute. Now thats rather high side. The cheapest rate provider BSNl is charging RS.10 than what abt hutch.airtel,etc.Too high for middle and common layman.

Now calling from there is even more costlier. It costs him a 1$ per minute to india and that is RS.45 for just a minute. Now i must say this hefty call rates.Even from here it should be RS.5 for developing countries rate.At rs.10 u have to think twice or there should be a unlimited scheme for this. From uganda i cant expect or say abt telecomm but india should think on this. There are about 50,000 indians in Uganda at current and we need cheaper rates.Uganda is a backward country and rates are surely going to be high.Uganda government isnt aware of the fact that indians contribute high % of GDP to the total GDP of country.Still no steps!

What u say?eh?

If internet is available their then you can do chatting or voice chatting which would be good and also much cheaper. I think this is the best and the cheapest way to stay in touch.

All the countires and which are backward and islands where there are no companies do have high calling rates. So as of this you would have to pay high prices for calling at these places.

Calling rates to some countries are very high and this is just a example of what i am talkig about. So it would be nice to talk to get a detail list of the calling rates to each and every country so that you know exactly how much it would cost you.
