Where do you live?
In India Airtel broadband is one of the most reliable ones I guess.. at least from what I hear from members here.
Well if are saying of the monoply then in India there is no monoply of any particular company. Like in every field there are competitors for every leader.
Right now this would not happen in India any time sooner but i am sure that one day this would be reality. India is a highway to technology and broadband is avery important part of it.
Well i don't care about if India has the biggest broadband network in the world but what i mainly care about is that would India ever have the cheapest broadband in the world ?
This would be a good thing if India is in the top list of biggest broadband in the world list. I am sure if this happens then we would see a big fight in the broadband field.
ahan ahan ahan.. i dont think co's in india are gonna offer cheaper broadband anytime sooner..
just been back from UK n am shocked at the broadband service provided here and the prices charged..
the isp's in india are havin a loot out of the users..
cheers!!!

Absolutely wrong, india is not the biggest broadband in the world but it could be United States. Perhaps indian could be the cheapest broadband in the world in terms of lowest startup cost to own a broadband.

ooh really.. how about 2mbps unlimited for just GBP 4.99 (Rs. 400) a month..?(offered by many ISP's in UK with free modem and installation)
i bet u'll never get ne-thing like dat in INDIA any sooner..
it is all mutual understanding between the ISP
if one of the ISP starts giving that price then other will follow
it is like the mobile traffic, first the incoming calls where charged but then one provided gave free incoming and this was adapted by all
No where in the world are mobile incoming call free !!!
if fact in US you pay for incoming SMS also
who said incoming calls are not free anywhere else in the world..?
Dubai, Australia, Canada, UK, Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.. to name a few, where telecos offer free incoming!!!
Infact in UK u can even get unlimited free outgoing calls on some tarrifs..![]()
in terms of telecommunication nothing beats India man it is damn cheap!! no other country on this planet provide such cheap call rates as you can see the rates of ISD calls US and Canda are 3 or 4 rupees per minute and Gulf is for rs 8 per minute ...........just look at these prices!!!you cant go any cheaper than this
and there's no mentioning what are the rates of STD & Local calls, if you are using BSNL service than your whole state is local for rs 1.00 per minute
When this talk is about Broadband, we should stick to broadband.
Two points.
1. Indian is not the country having the biggest broadband penentration
2. In countries like US and UK, broadband is much more cheaper and availavle at much higher speeds.
It would take not less than 5 years for India to provide 2 MBps unlimited internet for Rs.1000
