VSNL planning to setup cyber cafes at railway stations
VSNL might have failed to provide decent broadband connections to the interested customers in the country but they are now planning to establish cyber cafes at 68 major railway stations across the country.
VSNL Broadband & Retail Business President Shashi Kalathil said in a statement on these plans: “We are keen on making Internet easily available so that passengers can stay connected even while on the move.”
The company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that they aim to complete the work on this project very soon. VSNL is also planning to offer value added services like printing, scanning, mobile charging and CD writing through these cafes.
The company would establish Wi-Fi enabled areas in railway stations through their Tata Indicom brand, which would help the owners of laptops to go mobile on these stations.
As for me, I still find the idea of finding a neat place to sit at a railway station in india funny. Forget Wi-Fi connectivity for my notebook PC. |
