Bharti looking at expansion through acquisitions

Bharti Airtel has said that they are now aiming at expanding their business operations and acquisitions might be one of the ways to go ahead with their plans.

Sunil Mittal, chairman of new Bharti Airtel spoke about their plans: “We’re ready to go outside India. We have the strength and the resilience. There’ll be the right moment, where we’ll strike.”

Bharti is aiming to expand in markets where the telecom density is low so that they get a base of prospective customers. Vodafone is one of investors in the company and they are supporting their plans to expand into other markets around the world.

The company wants to invest in neighboring markets like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the near future. In addition, Bharti is also aiming to acquire licenses in certain African nations, which experts believe would fuel the growth in the mobile market in the future.
