Thread: Software for Stock trading.

    Default Software for Stock trading.

    Hi friends

I have found a reasonable way (logic) to to make a software work on behalf of us for selling the stock at the right price.

For the first step i am coding only to sell the current stock which you already have, at a good price. Later will update it with buying etc..

I am not going to disclose the logic because i know most of you here are very prof's in coding so let this be with me only.

Just want a general idea about how many of you do intraday trading and if i give you a software which will sell the share which you have already bought at good price without getting it into loss.

    Do you want it ?

intra day trading has several perception factors besides simple arithmetic. the very concept of intra-day means that you buy and sell on the same day and you do not hold the stock. depending on your perception, your can sell first and buy later (short) or buy first and sell later (long). it also has to factor in the brokerage and STT payable on each transactions (both buy and sell).

so what good would be a software that can only sell.

the existing terminals provided by most broking houses already provide for placing an order indicating the price at which to buy/sell and the system executes at that level.

exactly correct ! But those softwares will sell at the price you fix thats all.
Ex: you buy a share at 10 rs and tell the software to sell it if it reaches 15 rs so the currect software will do it, but what if the price reaches 25 rs ? that is net 10 rs less profit to you...! my program will wait till it reaches the highest rate in certain time and then then sell it. Not just at a fixed price

when it comes to the stock market, NO ONE can predict what would be the HIGHEST rate for the day. Yes, it can go from 1000 to 1100 then it can go to 1200 or go down to 900 also.
(it will never go from 10 to 15 to 25 because circuit breakers are in force)
so in the sttempt to be greedy, one could very well turn to be a net loser.

what you said is very true no one can predict the market but using my software i am already gaining very nice results as expected (just yesterday i tested) now waiting eagerly to see the market open tomorrow...
Its not greedy or guessing its pure programming and nothing else.. Just this is the first stage. Ill make it even to buy shares but one step at a time.

Yesterday i bought share at 950 and left my program to handle it.. the price went to 955 i thought of selling it but just was waiting for my program to do it, later after 10 min when i saw it sold the share at 962 and at that time (when i saw) price was 958.

What would you say now ?

your software would be somewhat effective as long as the market is going up.

but the day the market crashes or becomes highly volatile (what we in our slang call a Dolphin), it would book you heavy losses and could very well wipe out all the profits that you have made in the six months before that.

I have been in the market for the last 10 years and done all sorts of deals; Stocks, Commodities, Currencies and various Derivetives. And the one thing that I have learn is that one should never be too greedy.

But all the best in your efforts.

I have solution for that also.. My software will automatically sell the shares if it goes below the price at which you bought(or can be configured) so even when you are not infront of it, it will be taking care of the shares. Loss is the main reason why i am doing this software.

    Thanks for the comments.

Heres what the official BSE India site has to say on the subject

    Trading Timing
Trading on the BOLT System is conducted from Monday to Friday between 9:55 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. normally.
SOURCE: About BSE \ Trading and Settlement

It is not that Saturday trading is not done. But ONLY as a special case like MUHURAT trading, BUDGET DAY trading or for testing some new softwares.

I guess you meant that you can place orders on a saturday as well which will get executed on Monday morning... other then that there is nothing I can think of.. and you can only place limit orders when the markets are shut.
