    Question personal finance software

Can any one suggest software for personal finance ?

Likes it keeps the records of fix deposits at various bank, details of national saving certificates, details of LIC premium, etc

It should also calculate the interest for the given financial year for the given fix deposit ...and etc

May also have the details of the stocks / shares.

I need such type of the thing, and preferably it should work at my local machine and data should be stored at my machine only.

    Will any body suggest ?

I am currently using AQURA8 to keep track personal finance journal. I don't know if you can download it from the Internet as I got it from my friend.

You can try Intuit Money Manager. It is online and subscription based but subscription fee is not high.

    Check their website.

Won't it be unsafe to keep you details on an online location ? Just in case if it is hacked ?

    no ji not good idea...

how can you trust an online service for all that stuff???

there was some guy two days back who was advertising a service through which you can give them all your important documents, (they will keep in high secure facilities in safety).. and whenever you want your documents in an electronic form, they will send by email.. lol.. i couldnt stop laughing..

i have just one suggestion for people who are thinking of having an online service like this.. please dont do it.

You do not have to keep bank account id, usernames, personal information (name, address), pwd, etc.

Intuit is a world reputed company and keeps the data safe. Of course, if computer is compromised, nothing can be done.

But you need to keep only the stuff about investments, FDs, loans, etc.

Even if hacked, the information will not be of not much use.

OK. I forgot. A free service is also available on moneycontrol.com. But it is rudimentary (does all of the above pnjani wants) and does not do projections, future cast, etc,
