    Default Help requested regarding buying Asus

    Friends i have a laptop of brand HP 6350b,but my elder brother who lives in Bangluru is keeping a devil's eye on it .
    So for some educational and online purposes i have to buy a lap for myself.i am short of funds.i want to purchase Asus's 12000/-machine.so any of you who has this.please give your recommendation on this.by the way i heard that it has low memory is it really so?and if i have linux on it.what will be it like.please reply.

    aSUS is good choice, its a good company. But i think in the long run you might get annoyed uing it coz of the cpu capacity and also, you will certainly might do more than "educational" on ur laptop. eg:-games,. movies. the low-budget laps wil definitely make u sick when it comes to that.

    netbooks aren't really multifunctional you know....better off with a low end one at least if you hve any other use for it

    agree with Harshytkage,
    Buy a sleek desktop if you want it mainly for home use.
    Then you can have lots of fun compared to a laptop.

    also...if you do go about a netbook, go with the eeepc(ASUS) or the Ideapad S10(Lenovo)
    i warn you, any choice besides these will get a bod bargain compared to these two

    even i am in support of desktop, you can simply go for a good desktop and if you really need a laptop only then you can get this asus one coz as you said you want to use linux on it so most of the linux distro can work good with even 256MB RAM and normal P4 system.

    I love linux, if you are comfortable with it then i suggest you not to switch to windows
