Sorry this is a bit offtopic :

Looking at that picture it looks like you work facing a wall which is not advised by vastu guys... facing a wall while working makes you less creative and takes longer to get work done as compared to if you had your back towards the wall.

    nice pics there ...

thanks for the advice ... i think u took the second pic of my laptop as the usual position i work in. that is not the case. i generally use my laptop on the bed itself as in the first pic. it were only some harsh comments from my sister & mom like "sara din lete rehte ho laptop ke saamne , baith ke kaam kiya karo etc etc " which made me change my position for a few days ... but i am back to my usual position - . at the current position i am facing a study table and a window ...

    this is the normal position:

Vaseline is for the dvd drive motor and fan motors to run smoothly... especially when I use it for extended times I just put some vaseline on those moving parts and my laptop doesnt heat up atall.

And I have two hands as well and its winter these days

I use the multipurpose oil which is available with sewing machines for the same purpose.

I use the mentioned oil for lubricating the dvd drive motor and the fan motor (just like the Admin mentioned). Mere two drops is necessary to get the fan running merrily.

The same is also used by me to lubricate the CPU/GPU/SMPS fans too on my PC.

The fan starts acting up once in two years. So i open it up then. Be warned that opening up the base may lead to cancellation of warranty if any.

ok ... actually i was surprised when both of you said you use these things often on your laptop (i just took it that way) .... my laptop wasnt on warranty for even one day and its been 3years now ...

Depends upon the environment in which the devices work. Clean airconditioned places are best suited for these. I have to clean the PC CPU fan every year
as it is situated in a non AC room.

for cooling laptops, intead of applying oil or vaseline, is a notebook cooling fan a good option??

does the notebook cooling fan have much of an advantage?? while gaming,my hd temps go upto 46 47c.will it be harmful?

Yes cooling pads are specially designed for the same...cooling the laptops. So it will be more efficient than applying lubricants.

HDD temp of 46-47 is quite normal, although i would suggest investing on a dedicated cooling solution like cooling pads if u are into gaming and use the laptop primarily for gaming.

    First Laptop

    Second Laptop

    My First 19" Desktop

Both my laptops with my desktop on the computer table

This is my first desktop which I have still kept with me though I do not open it more than once in a month Its of the P3 generation and my fascination with computers started with it.

Hope you all like the photos .. Most of my friends call me a computer freak though I am sure there are many bigger computer freaks in this forum.
