Dell products are generally costlier than others, I dont know about other netbooks.
How expensive is this compared to those?

dell provides very good service.yes.whn my hd went kaput,in the evening,i called them at night and my new hd was installed the next morning.less than 24hrs.
negatives are there though..
1.i am an xps priority warranty consumer.it means, even on non-business days,i get my problem solved within 24hrs.do not know how service to others is..
2.warranty extension is way too costly..at a time when hp provides 2 years of extended warranty at 2500 odd bucks, dell charges 8000 for a 1-year extension of warranty!!

For a Netbook... 31K+taxes is a bit high... and as ag_prasun said... 8K for extending warranty by one yr is way too costly affair!
