hey Rakshith
I am using a dell 1525 and it gives 3 hrs backup on internet and while watching movies also....and otherwise it gives 4-5 hrs of backup...
but keep the battery mode on power saver mode and lower down the brightness of screen...this will be helpfull to you too in saving power....
Almost each and every laptop with 6 Cell will give you around 2-2.30 Hrs backup only u can get some more by changing the power saver option n getting unused services disabled.
Regarding after sales service:
these are electronic goods so it depends on your luck too may work without any problems or it may give u problems, so just look for your configuration what u are in need n ur budget n go with the one which best fits.
if u keep doing research u will find complaints n service problems regarding each n every brand out in the market, so just go head.:001_tt2:

im planning to buy INSPIRON 14, C2D 2.2Ghz with 3 GB Ram, 6 cell battery...How is the battery back of that compared to INSPIRON 15????
Depends on how you use. Normally , 6 cell battery lasts for 3-3.5 hours depending on usage. Eg, if you run a heavy game on battery, its bound to drain quickly.
3-3.5 hours for 6 cell battery in normal use, Eg, chatting, surfing, listening to music , working on MS office. ( All simultaneously).
5-6 Hours for 9 cell battery in normal mode as said above.
To maximize battery performance, lower brightness of display, turn off bluetooth , wi-fi etc.
Hope you got a general idea.
If you compare Inspiron 14 with 15, Battery is same.
But i will say go for Inspiron 15

I have been using Dell Inspiron 15 from last 8 months and I am pretty happy with its performance. I have never stress tested the battery but I am sure it should give you around 3 hrs of backup. You can always get a 12 cell battery if you want a longer backup.
Is the 9 call battery installed as a standard brand by dell.. or can we add convert from 6 cell to 9 cell on our own? and does that affect the warranty?
6 cell battery is included free of cost. You've to shell out around 1750 bucks to opt for 9 cell at the time of purchase of the Notebook. Replacing Battery according to the specifications later won't affect the Warranty.
