Thread: problem in laptop

i have a compaq laptop, i have notice a new things in its cooling fan. before this problem it was automatically started when laptop heated and cut off when temprature was down but now fan is working countinusly

Please tell me what should i do?
also tell me , this is due to summer or this is a problem ? will it creat a problem on fan life

As you said the fan is continuously spinning.... it may be due to the summer also cant tell you exactly without checking.... here is what you should try...
1) Try not to keep the laptop on any soft base like bed or pillow etc keep it on a hard surface like table etc... and check... the best way to see if its due to summer is switch on the laptop, dont close the lid and invert the laptop upside down... and let the fan be freely be ventilated and wait for a few min and check if the fan stops spinning....

This is just a rough way to check not the exact way.

Now you please post the result if it stops with some of the other things
1) Model Number of your laptop
2) Temp at which it is working (can be seen in Bios or some 3rd party software's)


after your reply detailed analysis is possible and will try to solve your problem

thank u veru much for your reply. I am not using laptop on soft surface, room temp. is alwasys normal but i can not understand why its cooling fan is always spin, model number is V-2384 compaq

Please go tru this to diagnose the laptop overheating problem

i suggest that u use a laptop cooling stand, of good brand like "coolermaster". i use one, and my lappy does not heat up much. i had an issue similar to your's. using this laptop cooling pad worked, and now the fan only runs when the CPU is actually hot, like when i play games, etc.
