some general points to be considered before buying a secondhand laptop are 1. Check the configuration of hardware...RAM, Processor, Speed. This should atleast meet today's standard. 2. Googled the laptop model and check if it is a failure one. 3. Check whether the laptop supports your need atleast for 2/3 years, sothat you dont need to invest again. 4. More important thing is findout why he is selling his laptop. There might be some hidden issues.

| It depends on the age of laptop. But the above stated functions depend mainly on connection speed than hardware configuration. If you believe your friend and the configuration is all right, you can go ahead. 256 MB of RAM will be nice at this stage. Laptops are a bit costly when it comes to maintenance. So ask the age and configuration so that we can give you a better idea. Also ask your friend's opinion about its performance. If I am not mistaken laptops are available for 30,000. If you can manage a personal or bank loan, I suggest try a brand new one. |

Rs. 9000 is really a small price for laptop. But if you try to replace any of the hardware, it will be costly as the model is old. The components may not be available and will be costly. Your purchase is profitable as long as you do not need to meet a maintenance personal. Hope this helped.
