that processor is at 1.9GHz i think. It is by no means a record shattering processor, but is fine for day to day use.

What are the other options that ur fren has ???

AMD Athlon 64 X2 QL-60 was introduced by AMD to compete with Intel's Dual Core Processors so Intel C2D is far head than this particular AMD Processor so no question of comparing both.

AMD isn't bad its just a matter of misconception and aggressive marketing strategy of Intel.

So it will depend on what kind of work your friend is going to do on the laptop.

For gaming purpose he will need Graphics Card With Dedicated Memory for best performance so i think he will have to increase his budget to 45K to 50K.

Don't buy HP, their service is not good, they do not even give you a CD for MB or the Windows version they install, they just create a recovery partition in the HD. Better go for Dell. You can log on to dell.co.in and configure your own gaming laptop. Intel is better than AMD as far as gaming is concerned. Good luck !

Yup HP dont provide Windows and Driver CD's you can create one through the recovery partition provided in your hard disk.

If you are too much concerned about it then just give a call to HP cust care with in 5 days they will send you all the CD's free of cost ok.

Hope you had some personal experience with their service

High end products and low end products have their own merits and demerits hope you understand and this might be an end to your dilemma

for Rs.45000 u can get a dell studio 15 laptop with 256MB ATI HD4570 card which should be enough for average gaming on its 15.6" screen.don't buy HP because upto Rs.60000 range HP laptops won't even have a similar performing card as dell's ATI 4570(they all have nVidia 9300m which is far inferior than 4570).only better option than ATI 4570 is nVidia 9600M(or above) but these cards only comes in laptops priced ~Rs.70000 or above.also AMD is only better if you have strict budget constraints(read lower end laptop/desktop) else INTEL C2D is best right now for any platform(desktop or laptop).acer 4530 is good for multimedia but for gaming it's not good because onboard graphics is a mere nVidia 9100M which can't even be called as a gaming card.it is there mainly for multimedia enhancement.as for acer4530 reviews looks like its battery is not good enough & it's OK for CASUAL GAMING only.also it has no HDMI port which is a really bad point for this laptop considering that the graphics card has the capability to support it.

P.S. it's better to spend Rs.5000 more & get a better laptop then to buy a cheaper one & regret later because unlike desktop laptop can't be upgraded in graphics hardware.

Default Small Info to all - My Suggestion

AMD vs Intel

Intel for Gaming.

The technology used by INtel gives them plenty of Clock Speed. Dont worry about the Cores.

Heaviest Software that runs in a system could be a PC Game. for Example GTA IV.

Thats why every game requirment says Pentium 3 or equivalent, p4 2gHz or equivalent.

The Technology used by AMD wont enable them to processor high clock speed procesor. Even if they try to do the cost would be very high so that they might lose the trademark AMD=Cheap

Recently AMD quad core procesor turned to be a tri - core procesor with a Core disabled due to some compatibility issues.

So

VERDICT

Intel Pentium 4 vs AMD Athlon
AMD Wins

Intel Core 2 Duo vs AM2
Intel Core 2 Duo vs AMX Phenom Tricore

Intel Wins
