Default Dell XPS vs Dell Studio

    hey guys.....
i am confused between dell studio 15" laptop and dell xps 13"....
    I knw they are not

    here are the specs:
    Dell Studio 15:
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9550 (2.66GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache)
    15.6” 720p WLED (1366x768) Display with TrueLife™ & Built-in 2.0M Web Cam
    4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 SDRAM Memory
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
    9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

    And

    Dell Studio XPS 13
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 3MB Cache)
    Obsidian Black 13.3 " WXGA (1280x800) CCFL Display w/ 2MP webcam
    4GB (2 X 2GB) Dual Channel 1067MHz DDR3 SDRAM
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 9500M-GE with Hybrid SLI® Technology
    6-Cell (56WHr) Li-Ion Primary Battery

the thing is that xps 13 has a DDR 3 RAM and a Hybrid Sli Graphics card, but studio has a DDR2 RAM .
Also I believe that a 13" laptop will be too small for watching movies and playing games.... I actually cant decide between the two in terms of screen size & configuration..

Over all which configuration is better, both laptop are priced around Rs 65000.

    Wink

Well there is no doubt you can go for Dell Studio 15

    It has faster processor.
Coming to memory DDR3 is not going to make a big difference.
NVIDIA® GeForce® 9500M-GE sucks better to be with Radeon HD 4570 and that too GPU with 512 MB dedicated.
15'' display is better if you are not looking for mobility.
9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery, you will get more backup.

get a dell studio XPS 16 for 67900 which is better configured than the both models you mentioned:
Dell Studio XPS 16 Laptop Details

it has 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 which is better than 4570 & its build quality & screen is also better than studio series.

Hey, NV9500 is better than a ATI4570. ATI 4570 has only 80shader processors. Also, remember that u have Hybrid SLI on the studio. It means that u will get better battery life when in idle and better performance than regular 9500 as it is in SLI with a 9300 GPU.

    See Kaus,

you gave us two options to chose which one will be good and better one considering your requirements i suggested you the Studio 15.

you will never get a same view from everyone all will differ, as your budget is also fixed one, its now upto you to chose which one you want.

If u are gonna buy,i m goin to chk some laptops tomorrow in a store, i will tell u what is the best deal on an HP laptop. So w8 till tomorrow b4 u make up ur mind.

Also, 13" screen = smaller size = more portability. So, dont u think its better ?

also, i think these prices exclude tax, do they ???

i won't recommend a HP laptop right now.DIGIT magazine is carrying out articles for last 2 months about many customers facing problems from HP/Compaq laptops & in my opinion it is better to avoid them for the time being.DELL seems to be the best choice at this moment.also for laptops intel's core2duo is recommended.personally too i have seen servicing of HP/Compaq & in my opinion their service right now is comparatively more time taking.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
