| Netbooks do not have optical drives, have a much longer battery life than many other regular laptops. The screens are small (below 12"). They are meant only to surf the net, watch movies and other light stuff. They are inexpenssive. They are gr8 for college students. |

Rep Power: 9 | A Netbook is a low-cost ultra portable device primarily used for acessing Web based applications (checking mails, IM, social networking etc) and for some lite local applications like storing photos, using Office software (word processor, spreadsheet, presentations) etc. A Laptop on the other hand is a full fledged protable PC for all kinds of operations, even those requiring high computation powers. Both have their utilities and function in different spheres. |

Rep Power: 0 | I own a netbook, and my opinion is, it is for people who already own a desktop or a laptop. B'cos u have lots of limitation when working on it. Main advantages are portability and long battery life. My asus 1000he gives me around 6-7 hrs of battery life. As for the configuration u will notice that almost all companies has the same configuration ie 160gb hdd, 1 gb ram, intel atom processor, etc. So the main criteria while deciding which netbook to buy is the battery life, build quality, after sales and ergonomics. They become slow when u try to run multiple applications. Some of the best models available in the market are asus 1000he, samsung nc10, samsung n110. |
