Thread: How to wake up laptop from shutdown automatically

I want to wake up dell laptop at a specific time after shutting it down, the BIOS setting is not helping, usually at desktop i use wake on lan setting to wake up the pc at a specific time

But my dell laptop's power management is not having the wake on lan option, it only has wake up on usb support,

how can i wake up my laptop, its Dell inspiron 1525

You can either use "wakeuponstandby" (software's name) or try using windows scheduler method. Both work fine.

Thanks, it does wakes it up from sleep state but not from shutdown state,

the problem with sleep is that after it wakes up, the laptop is stuck at the logon screen ,and have to click on the name of user to start windows (vista)

Turn of "Use the welcome screen" in User Account settings, if you don't have multiple accounts and password protection.

I think there is another option in Windows Vista to autologon, in User Account settings.
