Default What's most important to you when purchasing a new Notebook or Laptop?

You can share the information about a particular model which you use and what exactly influenced you to buy it.

If you don't own a Notebook, then which model you want to own in near future and why?

If you don't have to say anything, simply vote to let us know about your preference.

I would like to clarify that Notebook and Laptop have same meaning.

    Netbook owners can vote too.

I am planning to buy a Dell Laptop (Dell Inspiron 15). For me the specs/performance & cost matters. I want the best configuration at a reasonable price.

I will go along with you guys. Performance is what matters to me most. However, I can't stop marvelling at the latest designs the manufacturers are launching in the Market everyday.

Maybe in couple of years my preference will change from specs to looks.

Although i have voted for Spec/Perforamance as there was no multiple selection option available .............
otherwise Price is also a deciding factor ........... as if your pocket is empty you can't buy it no matter how good in performance the lappy is .

I m surprised so many have voted for Performance......

Most(70%+) of the Laptops sold by vendors are in a sub Rs30,000 range.......I voted for price

I would suggest a HP DV6 any day over the studio 15. Please have a look at them too.

    Everyone has their on taste.

Some people just need portability for a while i think they wont go for looks, Specs/Performance.

So PRICE is the most deciding factor here, the more you pay the more you will get.

I have voted for It should be a Desktop replacement because why to have multiple boxes here and there.

Since I am not a gamer, I will look for a most of the features first. But more standard laptops are very similar in features.

So my prime importance would be to portability. Carrying a 1.5 lb laptop is much easier than the 2~3 kg models, especially on the aisles/airways of an airport.

yeah for those who are not gamers and only work in their documents & files and listen songs..................
portability is the most useful thing for them because they don't need too much for this purpose..................also usually there is intel on board graphics so they can play small games like Vice City,San andreas(with low settings) etc.

Connectivity options like Bluetooth and wifi.
TFT LCD screen - without this its difficult to work outdoors in bright light conditions.

The spec takes priority for me.

Our new laptop is perfect for my family, but fundamentally my laptop is where I work from. I need a huge amount of storage space for all of my bits and pieces, including downloads, music, games and photographs.

According to me.. in India where electricity load shading is unavoidable is almost all the states, standby time is the most important factor. After than one may go for processor speed, RAM and screen resolution.

I guess I am more on a brand conscious consumer.. I prefer an Asus brand in buying one..more than anything else..second is the color..
