Apple released three MacBook models. Basic model comes with 13.3 inch screen, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz processor, 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM (expandable upto 4GB) and 120 GB HDD which retails for $1,099. The third model also has the same specification as second model but includes a 250 GB hard drive and retails for $1,499.
The new MacBook Pro model include 15.4 inch screen, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz processor, 2GB DDR 2 SDRAM (expandable upto 4 GB), nVidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics chip with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, 200 GB HDD. It has been seen that Apple had been more frequently upgrading its notebook line since they have moved to Intel processors. It is also said that other notebook PC makers will try to introduce the same Multi-Touch pad feature in their notebooks which is starting to sprinkle in Apple product line.
As Apple have exceeded its last year average shipment, it will be interesting to see if Apple keep this momentum going on which would clear that if Apple has established itself as a luxury brand or a necessary technology provider.
