nVidia G8200, 512 Graphic Card (best for GAMES and other Graphics),
    160 GB HDD,

I bought it from my home town, kottakkal (shop name: Pentron computers). I was going to buy Acer laptop with these configurations plus having finger print login function (Rs. 28,500). but later they told me about the Toshiba model. I was so happy and get rid from acer (there's a talk something -ve about acer laptops).. You can heck detailes of the shop in acer's website and find the authorized dealer in Kottakkal, malappuram dist, Kerala.. u can get contact detailes of Pentron if you want it..

Actually there's a small mistake in the post (it's 14" instead of 15")

Laptops come with the OS as standard. The majority come with a version of Windows while there are a few that come with Linux. This is a good thing as laptops are meant to be consumer-friendly. It would be a terrible experience for the average consumer to buy a laptop without an OS as it will be unusable as soon as it's turned on.

The OS that a laptop comes with is also the best possible operating system for that particular laptop, in most cases.

Unfortunately Laptop manufacturers will often just install the newest OS without taking into consideration their hardware specs. I have had one laptop ( with 1 GB of RAM) with preinstalled Windows 7 that did not run well at all, had to install Windows XP.

I'm also not sure that that's the case these days and I think manufacturers aren't too concerned with what the best operating system is, and would rather put the newest version they can on there, often simply because they will be contracted to do so if they're working in tandem with the OS manufacturers.

As a lot of people buy/try to buy high configuration systems, manufacturers mainly focus on those buyers. When you buy a high spec system, you would like to have a up-to-date software in it. That's what the manufacturers are trying, satisfying high-value customers. In this process, buyers like us are facing some problems.

Yes, there are laptops without any OS installed on it because it is not a part of the package. I have seen most of the shop owners install pirated version of OS with the consent of the customer. But in that case the customer will be denied of any future updates of the OS.

In my earlier laptop (IBM Thinkpad), they installed a pirated Windows version and when I clicked on something (I can't exactly remember what it was), there was a balloon type of reminder every time I open the laptop. The reminder notified me that the OS I had is a pirated one and I need to go for a paid genuine version.

There is a saying, something is better than nothing. Earlier some manufacturers gave DOS OS(works only with commands). But as of my knowledge no one provided a system without OS. Anyway, it is better to have genuine OS(though we don't like it) that a pirated one. pirated OS causes some problems.

Remember no one gives anything for free. Installing a pirated OS is like giving keys to a thief(or in this case "a hacker").
