    Cool Notebook coolers

High end hardware = High Power consumption = High Energy Consumption = High Heat dissipation
    _________________________= HOT SYSTEM

That is a general trend with computers. There are many ways to fix the issue of heat in case of desktops, but the options are very limited in the case of Laptops. Generally, the only option is to buy a separate Notebook cooler.

Here I will cover some of the coolers that are easily available in the local market in India. If you are from the United States you will get lots more easily. Just have a look at newegg.com. Different laptop coolers can accommodate laptops of different sizes, so do check that before you buy one.

Most of these coolers are USB powered and some even act as a USB hub. Those are generally a little more expensive. While looking for a notebook cooler, look at its size. See the number of fans it has, if it has many fans, it will cool your laptop better, but will be a little more noisy. I like bigger fans as they push more air at lower speeds hence produce less noise than smaller fans.

Here are 3 notebook coolers that I found in most of the stores in bangalore. The price can vary, but these should give you a rough idea.

Belkin Laptop cooler Pad : Cost Rs 1600

This is a pretty sleek looking cooler. Its got a rather small fan that blows air into the bottom of the laptop. It is USB powered. It comes in black and white colors.

    Cooler Master Notepal X1 : Rs 1600

This is a little different looking pad. Some may like it (generally gamers) and others will hate the look. It has a big 120mm fan and it can accommodate most 15" laptops. This is USB powered and has 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Cooler Master Color Infinite : Rs1750

This laptop cooler comes in many different colors. It has one 90mm fan and is also USB powered. It has 2 USB 2.0 Ports(output). This cooler can accommodate a 17" laptop. It has 4 rubber strips to avoid slipping.

There are more options in the market, different designs and more fans. You can choose according to your requirement, style and budget. Hope this article give you an idea of what the basic laptop coolers provide and what they are priced at.

    Nice one....
    Bt I have a question....
I bought a cooling pad for my laptop....with 3 fans and same usb connection...Not only it has 4 supporters to balance but also which helps to be stable on any kind of surface. one more thing like to add is I Bought it in just 530/- RS. Hmmm I guess half of the price from the above one....now almost using it for the last 3 months without any trouble....

    Yes they are available.
I checked a few of them in the market and the good ones cost somewhere around 500-2500/-.

But in my opinion frankly speaking, a stand and 2-3 fans for 500(at least) ??????????

I am a hardcore gamer and I don't even spare my new laptop for that reason. I have fixed a 3'' fan(from my old PC) on a hard pad and placed the laptop in front of the fan so that the hot air can be drained out directly from the laptop vent(even the costliest laptop pads can't do that) and from below the laptop.

This may sound stupid but for practical reasons, why the hell do you need to cool the laptop down from the bottom(which is done automatically as the air intake in on the bottom side)???????

The only use of laptop cooling pad as I see is providing room below the laptop for air to get into the laptop as some people place the laptop on surfaces like bed or anywhere ,where the intake holes are blocked.
For that I won't spend 1500/-, I would rather spend my money on a 16GB pendrive or a pack of 100 good DVDs .

    opinions may vary
