Once news just shook me badly! I too have the bad habit of working on my laptop keeping it on my laps which is though against the law of usability of such devices. There are many reasons why you should not use laptops on your laps all the time. But the news that a man got blisters on his thighs due to the heat generated by the laptop came really shocking. Medical examination proved that the prolonged use of the laptops and the too much heat generated from it caused the first degree burns on the user and thus it is essential that you take care of your laptop and try to reduce the heat of it.
The various wirings and connections on the boards within the laptop are responsible for the sensitive heat that changes the temperature in the surrounding. The heat is not only bad for your laps or physical conditions but also for the laptop too. The excessive heat can also cause technical snag or burn the wires and connections inside the laptop thus causing a lot of damage.
Here are few ways by which you can prevent your laptop getting excessive heat:
Give Your Laptop a Break
You need to rest the laptop or computer operating system some break. It is not good to use constantly the system. Do turn it off for few minutes or couple of hours in middle of your work. This provides rest and the heat cools down. Giving laptops some break is very essential for long life of laptops.
Proper Ventilation is Important
While using the laptop try to use it in cool place if possible inside a well ventilated and air conditioned room. The compact design of laptops compels them to get heated. Hence they need to pass the hot air from the room thus maintaining a balance between the heat produced and the surroundings.
You can also get additional USB fans or buy cooling pads to control the heat of the laptops.
